Шетња кроз село - a walk through the village

Прелепо поподне искористио сам за шетњу кроз село са ћерком и женом.

On a wonderful afternoon I took the opportunity to make a nice walk through the village with my daughter and my wife.

Мој стриц Јовица и његово имровизовано купатило у дворишту куће је прави дар за камеру :) Овом приликом поздрављам породицу Рајковић! :)

My uncle Jovica and his improvised backjard bathroom are a real feast for the eye of the camera :) At this point I'd liek to greet the entire Rajkovic Family! :)

Чувени град ”Врање” - The famous city of Vranje

 Удаљен око 55.км од мог села,Врање са својих 60.хиљада становника представља праву малу оазу историје ,традиције и уместности која се у овоме граду није угасила још увек.

Just 55 km away from my village, lays Vranje with its 60'000 habitants and is a real little oasis of history, tradition and art, things that in this city are not yet extinguished.

 Дух ”Старог Врања” још увек се осећа,ту је ”Пржар”,узвишење са кога пуца поглед на Врање и околину,легендарни ”Бели мост” , кућа нашег славног писца Боре Станковића,музеј у центру града и много других прелепих обележја који чине овај град на југу Србије јединственим.

The spirit of "Old Vranje" still feels alive when looking down from "Pržar" outlook from which there is a view of Vranje and surrounding. what makes the city unique are also the legendary "White Bridge", the house of our famous writer Bora Stanković, the museum in the city center and many other beautiful features.

Овога пута сам га посетио са породицом и пријатељима који су били одушевљени.

This time I visited the city with my family and friends who all were delighted.

Крштење и Венчање - Baptism and Wedding

Један од најлепших дана свакако у животима свих нас
Крштење мале Мирјане,још једног члана нашег села ”Ковачева Бара”
Крштењу је предходило венчање родитеља Немање и Љубице.

 One of the most beautiful days of our life course is the Baptisme, and so was, when we baptized our little daughter Mirjana, she's one more member of the village of Kovaceva Bara.
The baptism was preceded by her parents Nemanja and Ljubica's wedding.

Тетка Хелена која је одувек жељно исчекивала дан свога крштења одлучила је да то буде на дан крштења своје Братанице Мирјане.

Her aunt Helena, which was always waiting for a occasion to get baptized herself, decided to do it on her niece's Mirjana's Baptism.

 Крштење је обављено у Цркви Свете Тројице у Власотинцу,у којој сам и ја крштен,а прослава овог дивног догађаја најстављена је у мотелу ”Гуњетинац” у Власотинцу.

The Baptism was celebrated in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Vlasotince. The celebration afterwards took place at the Motel Gunjetinac also in Valsotince.

Овом приликом свим драгим гостима захваљујем што су присуствовали и увеличали овај срећан догађај.

Вазен - the water tank

Ове године је дошао на ред базен (резервоар за воду)
Несташице воде нажалост има свакога лета,па смо се одлучили да направимо базен који би служио као резервоар воде.

This year was the turn for the water tank (water reservoir)
Unfortunately, there are often water shortages every summer, so we decided to back up with a water tank that would provide us with water whenever we need it.

Базен је капацитета 7.кубних метара тако да има довољно воде за одмор а када редован водовод,надамо се ускоро стигне у наше село,резервоар може и даље да има улогу скупљача воде за например поливање баште.

The pool has a capacity of 7 m3 so that there's enough water when we spend the holidays there but it would also be enough for every day's life, and we hope that a regular water supply will soon come to our village, and then the tank will still be able to act as a collector of water for watering gardens and fields for example.

Чованац - The Sheperd's Fair

Деда Веља ми је први причао о Чобанцу још из времена када је овде долазио пешке и данима косио околне ливаде.
На око 1400м.н.в,15-так километара од Власотинца или од Предејана налази се пространа ливада која дуго носи име ”Чованац”
Сваке године на дан славе Светог Илије 02.Августа окупља се становништво околних села и њихови пријатељи.

My grandfather Velja was the first who told me about  the "Čobanac" (The Sheperd's Fair) how it used to be in the time when he walked all the way there and stayed for weeks to mow the meadows.
At around 1400m and about 15km from Vlasotince or from Predejane lays an enormous meadow that since long ago carries the name "Čobanac" (from Čoban = Sheperd).
Every year for the day of Sveti Ilija (Saint Elijah) on August 2nd inhabitants of the surrounding and their friends meet at "Čobanac".

Људи се веселе,одмарају уз живу музику,печење,пљескавице,куване крушке,пиво,вино,ракију… за најмлађе је постављено и неколико тезги са играчкама,све то тако траје како за кога од неколико сати до неколико дана,они најватренији долазе неколико дана раније и спавају у шаторима чекајући празник.

People feast and relax with live music, barbequed meat, cooked pears, beer, wine and rakija (serbian brandy) and for the youngest there ar plenty of stalls selling toys. Depending for whom..."Čobanac" can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days. The most ardents even arrive a couple of days before and sleep in tents to await Sveti Ilija!

Ја сам се са породицом упутио на само једно поподне из правца Власотинца а за повратак сам изабрао пут преко Предејана који је по мени бољи.

I spent just one afternoon with my family at the "Čobanac" and took the road from Vlasotince to drive up to the meadows. For the way back I choose the one through Predejane, which I thing is the better road.

Природа у околини је такорећи нетакнута,већи део је под ”Србија-Шумама” Власинско језеро је удаљено само неколико километара.
Уживање и одмор за душу,то је Чобанац.

Nature in the surrounding is so to say untouched, most of the woods are state-owned and the Vlasinsko Jezero is nearby.
 Pleasure and recreation for the spirit...this is "Čobanac"!!!

Хуманитарна организација ”Срби за Србе” - Humanitar organization "Serbs for Serbs"

После предивних слика и прича о мом селу и околини,поделићу са вама и ову која је другачијег садржаја.
После задње посете пријатељима,породици Милић у оближњем селу Велика Сејаница одлучио сам да покушам да им помогнем заједно са Хуманитарном организацијом ”Срби за Србе” у којој сам и сам члан и донатор.
Породицу Милић чине глава породице,отац Ранко,најстарији син Александар,ћерка Јелена и најмлађи син Никола. Нажалост после рођења сина Николе мајка и жена породице је напустила заједнички дом и почели су, у већ и онако тешким временима још тежи дани.
По обавештавању и молби Хуманитарној организацији ”Срби за Србе” већ после 2.недеље добио сам одговор да ће се учинити све да се овој сиромашној породици помогне.
Тако је и било акција је успешно обављена и породици је уручена најпотребнија помоћ а то је шпорет ”смедеревац” пред предстојећу зимску сезону и замрзивач за чување зимнице коју ћерка Јелена вредно спрема.
Приче као ова на велику жалост нису ретке у овом крају Србије!
Овом причом желим да се захвалим свим члановима Хуманитарне Организацоје ”Срби за Србе” и посебно тиму који је учествовао у овој акцији.
Оправдали сте моје и поверење породица мојих пријатеља.

After writing about the beauties of the Leskovac area and Kovaceva Bara, I'd like now to share a true story with you, that happened in the nearby village of Velika Sejanica.
Last time I was in Kovaceva Bara i visited my friend Ranko Milic in the nearby village of Velika Sejanica. Ranko lives with his children Alexandar (20years), Jelena (18 years) and Nikola (10 years) in a very run down house. HIs wife left the family when the youngest son was born. They are (and it's not uncommon in that area) a very poor family and they lack of even the most important things for living. Jelena had to replace the mother and runs the entire household under very difficult circumstances.

I felt very sorry about their situation, and had the wish to do something about it.
So I turned to an organisation I support since longer time, it's called SRBI ZA SRBE (Serbs for Serbs) it's a non profit organisation where serbs from all over the world support Serbs and friends of Serbs in need.
I described the Milic Family situation and asked them if they could consider to help them.

Two weeks later my I heard from the Milic family that some people of Srbi za Srbe have been there and discussed with them about the most urgent necessities.
A freezer and a stove would help the family a lot, and as this was decided, the people of Srbi za Srbe bought for around 400€ a new freezer and a new stove in the nearby city of Grdelica.
They made a couple of pictures and asked them to publish them on their website.
Ranko and his family were very greatful for this unexpected help.
I was very pleased to discover that this organisation works very seriously and that the money I'm donating is indeed used for good purpose. One thing is to see proves of the good work on a website...another is to know people personally that got indeed help.
In this place I'd like to thank Srbi za Srbe for the good work and I'm happy to support them further on.

Завршни спољашњи радови- Outside works finished

 Као и сваке године од када смо почели са нашим пројектом реновирања породичне куће и овог лета смо отишли корак даље и успели да завршимо све спољашње радове и нешто од унутрашњих.

Највећу муку ове године нам је представљао нови трофазни електрични прикључак,међутим и тај проблем смо срећно решили.

Са пуно уложеног труда и љубави,проширена је тераса,направљен трем (кров изнад терасе),фасада је измалтерисана и офарбана,постављени су нови дрвени прозори,врата,олуци и ограда на тераси на којој фале још дрвене тарабице које су осмислене и наручене уз помоћ нашег пријатеља Звездана Анђелковића, директора средње Дрво-прерађивачке школе у Грделици и праве је ученици у школској радионици.

This summer we succeeded to almost finish the outside works on our family house and to go as far as we could with the inside renovation. The most difficult task was the bureaucracy to get 3-phase electricity, after an elaborate installation of all the cables, it was a tedious run through administration to get the right person to sign and to enable electricity. 

On the other side the workers put a lot of efforts on some really nice works like the enlargment of the terasse, to make a roof for the terasse, the finishing of the plasterworks of the facade, the new wood windows, the new entrance door, the new roof gutter and the metal construction for the terasse handrail, which will just need to be covered with planks made by the scholars in the workshop of our friend Zvezdan Andjelkovic, the headmaster of the wood-processing high-school in Grdelica.

После свих обављених послова,у вечерњим часовима нашло се времена и за одмор и дружење са рођацима и пријатељима.

After the work is done, the evening offers a lot of time to spend and go out with my cousins and friends.
